ACCIDENTS &
INJURIESCLAIM CIRCUMSTANCES
|
|
Accidents and
injuries while on holiday can cause much distress as well as inconvenience. The
term accident is often misused as many injuries result from negligence by a
particular party. Some examples are:
- Tripping on poor
or damaged surfaces.
- Slipping on wet
or shiny floor surfaces.
- Being struck by
falling objects.
- Being involved in
a road traffic accident.
- Collapse of
furniture.
- Burns and scalds
from food containers.
- Falling from
un-fenced areas.
- Poor segregation
at public events.
- Lack of warning
notices in hazardous circumstances.
- Damaged or shoddy
electrical wiring.
- Infrastructure
failure or collapse.
- Inadequate or
non-existent fire precautions.
Obviously, accidents or injuries due to
one's own negligence are not actionable. However, there can be a situation
where an injury is made worse by poor medical attention or a lack of response
by the responsible parties.
